It sucks to be back in the office after a long weekend. We understand. So here are a couple of things you can look forward to. Now take out that diary and pencil in these dates.
ARMY DAZE – 25th Anniversary
21st – 26th August 2012 | 3pm (Matinée) & 8pm, @ Drama Centre Theatre
Tickets priced from $32 available through SISTIC - www.sistic.com.sg

“Stand by area, still confirm kena knock it down!” – Anonymous Recruit. If you’ve experienced that, then it’s time to relive those moments. For boys who haven’t, you can get your little preview. Michael Chiang’s iconic Army Daze comes marching back onto stage to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
The story of Singapore’s five most loved BMT recruits – Malcolm, Krishna, Kenny, Johari and Ah Beng – is presented by a completely new cast with original songs composed by music maestro Don Richmond. And did we mention that there’s also female sergeant (read: girl in military uniform) played by the hilariously talented Siti Khalijah? A must-watch in our books.

Grab this final weekend in August to view a myriad of interesting exhibitions. Step back in time and check out Singapore Living Galleries within the National Museum, which showcases Singapore’s transformation in areas of Food, Fashion, Film and Photography. Or hop over to the Asian Civilisation Musuem and discover the Islamic Arts from Southeast Asia.
BEN & JERRY’S – Chunkfest 2012

It’s baaack! Our favorite excuse to eat as much ice cream as possible returns. And it’s happening at Siloso Beach, Sentosa. What better way to compliment a tan-tastic day than to be surrounded by 20 exciting flavors from all over the world, specially flown in for the day’s festival. Also, we hear they’ll be unveiling a new flavor then.
Tempting you only for the day are the likes of the ‘Late Night Snack’ – a treat inspired by talk show host Jimmy Fallon, to the current ‘it’ obsession by ‘Red Velvet Cake’. A must-witness during the festival is the Vermonster Challenge, where teams of four vie to gobble down 20 scoops of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.
ESPLANADE PRESENTS – On the Waterfront (Rhyme and Reason)
24th – 26th August 2012 | Various Timings @ Outdoor Theatre, Esplanade
Free Admission – http://www.esplanadesingapore.com
Source: The.XS Collective
As part of the Esplanade Presents programme – offering free outdoor performances every weekend at Esplanade’s Waterfront – Rhyme and Reason showcases the local Hip Hop/R&B flavor. Featuring various acts from Singapore-based Hip Hop label The.XS Collective, it guarantees to galvanize the crowd over the span of three nights.
Get pumped up by the beats presented by Hip Hop duo TheCrazy88 dropping tunes from their debut performance on Saturday. And closing the line up is home grown urban artiste, Mark Bonafide. He has since released 2 albums and opened for the likes of Black Eyed Peas and Craig David. Don’t miss it as he croons your Sunday night away.
