Singapore’s biggest ice cream festival is back, with over 20 flavours of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream for your gastronomic pleasure. This year’s ice cream lineup will also feature flavours specially flown in from the Unites States – Red Velvet Cake being one of them (we call dibs on this). There will also be live bands, games and a movie screening, so you’ll definitely want to spend your Saturday there. After all, who doesn’t love ice cream eh?

If beach parties aren’t your thing (but you love your beer), head down to Oktoberfest Asia 2014 for some premium beer, gourmet Bavarian food and good ol’ yodelling. Tickets start from $108, but there’s a 10% early bird discount if you buy them before 15 September.

Go local at MAAD Pyjamas, a monthly flea market that showcases work and performances by local talents. You’ll find one-of-a-kind illustrations, cool knick-knacks and even local music artists playing there. Admission is free and the event runs until midnight, so this just might be a good option for Friday date night (especially if you’re a cheapskate).

What’s October without a Halloween event eh? If you’re into all things terrifying (no seriously, you WILL get spooked), make the trip down to Resorts World Sentosa for one of the biggest Halloween events this year. Some Halloween events can be kind of lame (read: students in cheap rented costumes), but Halloween Horror Nights 4 definitely sets the standard – think amazingly detailed sets, Hollywoord-worthy actors in custom-made costumes and enough scares to last you the rest of the year. Definitely worth the money if you’re a fan of haunted houses!
