5 Things To Do In June 2015

1. SEA Games

Okay, so it may not be the Olympics or World Cup but the SEA Games is still one of the biggest sporting events in the region. This year, Singapore plays host to dozens of athletes from Southeast Asia, including cyclist Dinah Chan from our own country. Whether you’re into competitive sports, or you just love watching synchronised swimming (go on, admit it), you can catch the action happening all over our tiny island next month.

When: June 5 to June 16

2. Gundam Docks

If you’re into robots or anime, this just might be the ultimate dream come true for you. Gundam Docks is one of the biggest Gundam exhibitions outside of Japan and will showcase over 200 Gundam models – including limited edition mobile suits and 6-metre tall robot models. You may have watched every episode of the anime series, or you may own every installation of the game, but seeing your favourite characters in a real-life sound and light show? That definitely takes the cake.

Started in 2009, Pink Dot SG is an annual movement that champions the belief that everyone deserves the freedom to love. Whether you’re straight or gay, the event aims to promote a more open and inclusive society. This year’s ambassadors include actress Patricia Mok, singer Daren Tan and YouTube comedy duo Munah and Hirzi. If you support the cause (or just generally like picnic parties), head down to Hong Lim Park for an evening under the stars. Don’t forget your pink outfit (and mosquito repellent).
