5 Things To Do In August 2016

1. National Day Parade

Ahh…it’s that time of the year again. This August, join nation-wide celebrations (and the flurry of red-themed products) as Singapore turns 51. For the first time in 10 years, this year’s National Day Parade will be held at the National Stadium. Besides the usual National Day Parade festivities, you can also expect indoor fireworks, 3D displays and of course, lots of singing along to our favourite National Day tunes.

2. Epicurean Market 2016

Foodies, here’s your chance to meet award-winning celebrity chefs, participate in Masterclasses and shop a curated selection of gourmet products. The Epicurean Market returns to Marina Bay Sands for its fourth year running, with 3 consecutive days of good food, fine wines and more. Celebrity chefs who will be at the event include Tetsuya Wakuda (Waku Ghin), Justin Quek (Sky on 57) and Daniel Boulud (db Bistro & Oyster Bar).

3. The Color Run Singapore

The happiest 5k run is back! This year’s Color Run will take place at Sentosa, where thousands of people will gather for an afternoon of adrenaline-pumping fun. The run is untimed and not a competitive one, so the only thing you need to worry about is wearing white on event day. Runners will be doused in different colours after each kilometre, so you can look forward to a colourful (and Instaworthy) finish.

Participants can also stay on after the run to party at the Finish Festival, where there will be music, dancing and of course, plenty of colourful fun.

Time: First flag off at 4pm.

4. M1 Chinese Theatre Festival

With show themes ranging from magical adventures to soulful monologues, the M1 Chinese Theatre Festival promises to be a real treat for fans of Chinese plays. The festival, which has been running since 2011, aims to bring together a mix of local Chinese theatre and regional acts.

Besides various plays, visitors can also participate in free workshops, storytelling sessions and more. See here for the full list of activities.

5. SuperMom Baby Fair
