After an overwhelming response last year, Christmas Wonderland returns once again for more bright lights, dazzling displays and festive feels. Here are ten things to check out at Singapore’s biggest yuletide fair.
1. Can anyone say Snapchat-worthy?
Get that Snapchat camera on standby, because the dazzling lights at Christmas Wonderland will blow you away. There will be more than 60 Luminarie light sculptures on display, each of them painstakingly handmade by Italian craftsmen. This year, the sculptures will feature a distinctive 17th and 19th Century Baroque architectural style – which you can expect to be truly magnificent, of course.

2. Snow in Singapore, yay!
Okay, not actual snow, but as close as you can get in sunny Singapore anyway. The Spalliera Castel del Monte, which is Southeast Asia’s largest Luminarie sculpture, will host ‘Blizzard Time’ at regular timings daily. The display, which is 19.75 metres high and 24 metres wide, will be showered with snowflakes foam for a good five minutes each session – so you can have a white Christmas after all.

Time: Blizzard Time will take place from 8pm to 8.05pm, 9pm to 9.05pm and 10pm to 10.05pm daily.

3. What’s a winter wonderland without some ice-skating?
Channel your inner Kim Yuna and take on the 400 square metre indoor skating rink at the Ice Palace, where there will also be a 25 metre-long Ice Slide and a Snow Playground (where you can make your very own snow angel!). Yup, it’s a Christmas dream come true for us snow-starved Singaporeans.

4. Santa is now accepting wish requests.
What’s Christmas without Santa Claus and his hearty ho, ho, ho’s? Complete your Christmas Wonderland experience with a visit to Santa’s Cottage, where you can tell him your wishlist (not too long, please – he’s a busy guy) and even snap a selfie together. Definitely a good place to bring the kids to.

5. It’s a Christmas Carnival!
This year’s edition of Christmas Wonderland will feature more carnival attractions, so visitors can look forward to games like Bank A Ball, Milk Can Toss, Fishy Fishy and more – with attractive carnival prizes up for grabs, too. There will also be classic carnival rides like bumper cars, a mini ferris wheel and more.

6. You’ll get to sit on a train…a Christmas train.
Fancy taking in the sights at a more leisurely pace? The Christmas Train will take you around the fairgrounds, so you can catch all the amazing light displays, without leaving the comfort of your seat.

7. Christmas calories don’t count, right?
Have your fill of Christmas goodies at The Glass House By Harry’s, a 2-storey establishment with a specially curated menu for the festive season. Visitors will be able to take in stunning views of the Luminarie displays, while feasting over festive eats. The restaurant will also be hosting underground bar B28, so you can head there for some post-dinner drinks. Corporate event bookings are available at The Glass House, so time to hint to your boss about that office Christmas party, perhaps?

8. What’s Christmas without some carolling?
If you love Christmas carols, then here’s your chance to belt out all your favourite yuletide songs. The Cassa Armonica del Monte, an 8 metre-tall illuminated gazebo will set the stage for some of Singapore’s most highly acclaimed choirs this Christmas season. Sing along to your favourite Christmas carols, as the CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ School Choir, Nanyang Technological University Choir, NTU Alumni Choir and more add to the festive spirit with their melodic voices.

9. A Nutcracker Parade & Dance?
If you needed more reason to get into the festive spirit, perhaps the Nutcracker Parade & Winter Dance will do the trick. Dancers from Contemp{minated}, the official contemporary dance club of Nanyang Technological University, will be putting on a music and dance performance at Christmas Wonderland – so you can get your Christmas on with catchy tunes, glitzy costumes and more.

10. Indie music acts
Besides Christmas carolling, the Cassa Armonica del Monte will also host a series of local indie music acts, such as Michaela Therese, Mars, The Next Movement, Take Two and more. There is no additional admission charge to watch these performances, so take the chance to catch some of Singapore’s music talent in action.
