1. Chingay Parade 2017
Themed Soundwaves Chingay, WeCare Singapore this year, Chingay Parade 2017 will feature a whole host of spectacular performances to celebrate the event’s 45th year. Besides multi-ethnic performances and magnificent floats, the audience can also look forward to dazzling displays, belting out classic parade tunes and stunning fireworks to cap off the night.

2. Detention Katong
Selena Tan (of Dim Sum Dollies fame, of course) is back again with a new musical comedy about bad girls who do good, and good girls who are well, not always good. Starring industry heavyweights like Neo Swee Lin and Sebastian Tan, as well as fresh faces Valerie Choo and Melissa Gan, the musical tells the story of star student Amanda Chin, who gains new perspectives after getting sent to detention for the first time. If you grew up as a teen in Singapore, this is one relatable story that will bring back memories of your younger years in school.

3. Relay For Life
Guilty about all that festive feasting you’ve been doing? Burn some calories for a good cause at Relay For Life, a fitness event that celebrates cancer survivors and caregivers. The run, which will also feature guest appearances by Nathan Hartono and Benjamin Kheng, aims to raise funds for the Singapore Cancer Society in support of cancer patients and those who have lost loved ones to the disease.
Don’t worry if you’re not a serious runner though – the event is not a competitive one, so you can walk the distance if you want. There will also be plenty of fun and games for the entire family after the run.

4. EarthFest
Back for its second edition this year, EarthFest seeks to raise awareness about sustainability in our community. The festival, which is held at Marina Barrage, will feature a Farmer’s Market with sustainable products, as well as a food fair with vendors like HIC Juice, Vegan Burg and more. Coupled with the picturesque background at Marina Barrage, EarthFest promises a fun – and healthy – day out for all.
