Guide To Yoga Studios In Singapore

Thinking about hopping onto the yoga bandwagon? Here are some great studios to check out in Singapore.

Yoga+

28 Pagoda St, Singapore 059188 | Tel: 9114 1639 | Opening Hours: 7am – 9pm (Mon to Fri), 9.30am – 6pm (Weekends)

Located in Singapore’s bustling Chinatown area, the Yoga+ studio is anything but noisy. The minimalist studio radiates a sense of warmth and calmness, that will – no kidding – set you into zen mode almost immediately. Each session starts off with an opening sequence that focuses on breath and mindfulness, as the studio’s philosophy is that yoga should take place beyond the physical training and asanas.

The instructors at Yoga+ are friendly, even making an effort to remember students by name. During the practice, various levels of difficulty are offered for the poses – so beginners don’t have anything to worry about. There is also an emphasis on getting the correct alignment for each pose, so as to minimise injuries.

Towels are available at $1 each, and there is a single toilet and shower facility.

Packages start from $140 for five classes; Unlimited pass for off-peak classes at $180 per month. Contact the studio for the most updated price list.

The Yoga Co. is an interesting home concept studio in the Kampong Glam district, a short walk from Bugis MRT station. When you step into the studio, a cozy living room area with mandala tapestry greets you – this is where most people sit around and chill before or after classes. There are no lockers or shelves to store your belongings though, as the studio invites you to treat the place like your own home.

Classes vary from traditional forms of yoga, to fusion-type sessions that incorporate other forms of exercises, such as Calisthenics and High Intensity Interval Training.

Towels are complimentary and there are two toilet and shower facilities. There is also a mini kitchen, and a resident cat who patrols the place from time to time.

Packages start from $230 for ten classes; Unlimited class package at $200 per month. Contact the studio for the most updated price list.
